This role will provide immediate response to failed plumbing and heating systems, including drain and waste systems, domestic water systems hydronic heating systems and natural gas systems. Additionally, they make repairs to keep systems functional and to schedule and preform more extensive repairs at times that are convenient for campus partners, and ensure all repairs are made in accordance with current plumbing code and health department regulations. Housing Facilities Services (HFS) is a comprehensive facility management operation that provides around-the-clock support to over 10,000 residents and 20,000 conference guests annually. Services include maintenance, repair, renovation, project management, capital construction, housekeeping and grounds-keeping operations. HFS has approximately 190 full-time employees and approximately 80 part-time and student staff, who all strive to give residents the best living experience possible. **What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be** _Plumbing Drain Systems_ + Restore drain, waste and vent systems to proper functioning condition by using appropriate chemical, hand or power equipment to remove obstructions. _Piping & Fixture Maintenance and Repair_ + Stop or repair leaks in waste, drain, natural gas, domestic water and hydronic heating by using the correct tools, replacement parts and fittings. + Restore faucets, water closets, urinals, sinks, valves, water heaters and other components by installing repair parts, or by replacing components. _Heating Systems Maintenance and Repair_ + Maintain and restore circulation in systems by repairing or replacing domestic hot water circulating pumps and hydronic heating pumps. + Minimize pump replacement by regularly providing preventative maintenance. + Ensure CU's facilities are safe and comfortable by repairing and adjusting radiators, unit heater control valves and domestic hot water control valves. _Preventative Maintenance_ + Preform scheduled preventive maintenance/service including: changing filters, cleaning coils, oil/grease bearings, pumps and performing building/mechanical room inspections. + Support building mechanics with preventive maintenance and daily work orders. _Code Requirements and Miscellaneous_ + Adhere to current code requirements by repairing, altering or replacing plumbing fixtures and systems. **What You Should Know** + This position operates University vehicles and requires an active Driver's License in good standing. + Typical hours are Monday through Friday, 7am to 3:30pm, but a 2nd shift and/or weekend work schedule may be required. + The position will also be on an on-call rotation with other Housing employees. **What We Can Offer** + The annual salary range for this position is $57,708-$75,000. + Our outstanding benefits include: + Paid days off: 22 vacation days, 15 sick leave days and 11 holidays per year. + Access to medical, vision, dental and life insurance. + Tuition reimbursement. + A 10% employer contribution retirement plan. + EcoPass for free RTD rides. + Opportunity for career growth within the division of Student Life and the CU Boulder campus! **Benefits** The University of Colorado offers excellent benefits (https://www.colorado.edu/jobs/benefits) , including medical, dental, retirement, paid time off, tuition benefit and ECO Pass.
