CTG is seeking to fill a Platform Engineer opening for our client in Columbia, MD. Location: Columbia, MD (remote) Duration: Permanent placement Duties: Serve as a strong systems integrator with a focus on enhancing, optimizing, and increasing robustness of existing code bases. Design and implement core architecture and capabilities for software from prototype to operational applications. Leverage infrastructure as code to define, build, and manage virtual infrastructure in AWS cloud environments. Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure stability, security, and scalability of deployed platforms. Perform other duties as assigned. Skills: Proficiency in Python or Go for software development. Strong knowledge of Linux systems, hosts, networks, and applications, including shell scripting (Shell/Bash). Hands-on experience deploying and managing Kubernetes (or vendor flavors). Expertise in AWS cloud infrastructure management. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues. Effective oral and written communication skills. Experience: Security Clearance: A current Secret U.S. Government Security clearance is required; U.S. citizenship required. 5+ years of experience in Platform Engineering or Software Development with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field; OR 3 years with a Master’s; OR High School Diploma/equivalent and 9 years relevant experience. Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab-CI, Jenkins, Travis-CI, etc.) preferred. Familiarity with DISA’s Big Data Platform or similar Big Data systems (Cloudera, Hortonworks, MapR, etc.) is a plus. Knowledge of configuration management tools such as Puppet or Ansible. Experience with virtualization technologies (oVirt, Proxmox, VMware, etc.). Understanding of agile methodologies and common development tools (JIRA, Confluence, GitHub, GitLab). Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field required (or equivalent experience as described above). Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained.
