Plant Superintendent (Full-Time) - Grande Prairie, AB

As Plant Superintendent, you are responsible for the safe and reliable operation of unmanned Onsite Industrial Gas Production Facilities. Your primary facility is VPSA Oxygen facility located in Grande Prairie, AB. The ideal candidate would currently reside in Grande Prairie, AB. The role requires travel and after hours support.

The incumbent would be responsible for the following functions:

OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE

Use troubleshooting skills to resolve process related deviations and problemsPerform process equipment troubleshooting, minor repairs, improvements and preventative maintenance, utilizing appropriate processes and disciplines to maintain equipment reliabilityReview key performance indicators for improvement areasEnsure equipment inspections (PM’s) are completed, plan and execute plant maintenance turnarounds, arrange for other internal resources or outside contractors as requiredEnsuring maintenance activities are documented and maintained as well as ensuring critical spare parts inventory is maintainedEstablishing and maintaining requisite local contractor support resources

MANAGEMENT

Interfacing with customers, communicating plant status and ensuring QA requirements are metExpense tracking and reportingSourcing and parts/material purchasing to achieve maintenance and scheduling objectivesCapital expenditure management and reporting

SAFETY AND NVIRONMENTAL

Ensuring conformance with applicable regulations and policiesManaging and maintaining electronic work order system as well as accident/incident reporting and investigationCompleting audit/incident action plansCompleting all applicable safety training and record maintenance

QUALIFICATIONS:

1-5 years’ experience in an industrial plant environment or equivalentMust have good computer and technical skills in order to learn how to operate both manual and highly automated process equipmentMust have strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skillsMust have a current and valid driver’s licenseTrades certificate in instrumentation and/or electrical, a Technology Certificate or relevant experience in continuous process operations would be of benefitSolid mechanical aptitudeMust be able to meet the physical demands of the job:Lift 25kgClimb stairs and laddersWork in tight and enclosed spacesBe able to wear all required personal protective equipment
