Plant Superintendent

The Plant Superintendent is a critical leadership role responsible for driving operational excellence across manufacturing teams. This position focuses on:

Enhancing safety culture and performanceEnsuring customer satisfaction through on-time delivery and consistent product qualityMaximizing productivity by optimizing labor, equipment, and process efficiencyManaging conversion costs to meet financial and operational targetsChampion CI Project Creation and Support

The Superintendent will lead daily operations, coach frontline leaders, and implement continuous improvement initiatives aligned with plant goals.

This role is designed as a developmental position for future Plant Manager opportunities. Candidates must demonstrate leadership potential, strategic thinking, and a commitment to relocation within the next 24 months to support broader organizational needs.

Promote a healthy Safety Culture; support and champion BlueScope’s safety initiativesAchieve a 100% personal and team audit rate, model safe behavior, and meet or exceed Medically Treated Injury (MTI) and Lost Time Injury (LTI) goalsManage staffing levels, work volume, and conversion costAssess process performance, establish and gather data on product quality conformanceDefine and communicate key results areas, measure team progress, and review with team membersTrack production supply cost and initiate cost saving activitiesHold direct reports accountable for meeting individual and team goals

Minimum:       

High school diploma or equivalent3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment

Preferred:        

Bachelor’s degree in Business or Manufacturing Engineering5 years of management or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
