Parker Aerospace Fluid Systems Division – North Hollywood, Californiasite was established in 1947 and acquired by Meggitt in 1999 and by Parker Hannifin Aerospace in 2021. In 2019, the facility was designated as Meggitt’s Machining Center of Excellence, with state-of-the-art multi-axis milling, turning, and additive layer manufacturing equipment. Parker Aerospace Fluid Systems Division – North Hollywood, California manufacturing features an upgraded 110k square foot, world-class manufacturing and testing facility. The facility has been designated as a Machining Center of Excellence within the Parker Meggitt group with recent additions of state-of-the-art multi-axis milling, turning, and additive layer manufacturing equipment. We also have testing capabilities for fluid and pneumatic valves that can duplicate the high temperatures, pressures, and flow rates of modern aircraft systems. With our in-house design and development capabilities and with our growing product portfolio we are in a leadership position for the next generation of high-performance aircraft engines and airframes. Parker Aerospace Fluid Systems Division – North Hollywood, California facility designs and manufactures valves and controls that regulate the flow of air and fluids under pressure and high temperatures. Its pneumatic and fluid control lines include fuel, mixing, and starter valves, air-oil separators, and solenoid valves used in commercial and military aircraft and aero engines. Industrial offerings provide fuel and bleed-air control valves and ground fueling products for power generation and mechanical drives. POSITION SUMMARY As the Parker Aerospace, North Hollywood, CA site Quality Engineering Manager, the responsibility of this role is to provide strategic leadership and management for the quality function, upholding a strong quality philosophy “Zero Defects” and lean culture. The site Quality Engineering Manager primary responsibilities include optimizing an effective quality management system, developing and implementing a comprehensive quality plan, and serving as the Management Representative for Quality Systems. This high-visibility position will serve as a crucial point of contact for customers. The ideal site Quality Manager candidate will have a proven track record in aerospace quality management, strong leadership skills, and expertise in AS9100D and Quality Regulatory requirements (FAA, EASA, CAAC, etc..). ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS + Communicates customer, regulatory and organizational requirements to assure product quality, contract compliance and customer satisfaction. + Provides leadership by promoting team concepts, coaching, counseling, retaining, mentoring, training, talent management, and individual development. Drives a culture of accountability and results through strategy deployment and effective performance management. + Oversees the effective documentation and implementation of the quality management system to assure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements and the standards set by corporate/division policies. + Implements the performance measurements necessary to effectively evaluate organizational performance and trends in product quality, services, customer satisfaction and the cost of poor quality. Uses the results of performance evaluation to target improvement efforts. + Expert knowledge of advance problem solving to maintain corrective action system, correct nonconforming conditions, and customer complaints. + Collaborates with Purchasing on the development and implementation of a supplier management strategy (performance, development, work transfers, etc…) + Collaborates with Engineering on new product development and design review for quality/reliability issues. QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience Education:Required Bachelor’s degree in a manufacturing related field, business or engineering, and progressive career experience. An M.B.A., an advanced technical degree, or professional designation may be preferred. Experience: 15+ years of experience in of major professional accomplishments including increasing responsibility and leadership of projects and teams of considerable size, scope and complexity for seven or more years. Demonstrated ability to perform the described role and responsibilities and obtain the desired results. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities + Demonstrated teamwork and team building skills in producing results and meeting organizational objectives. Capable of assessing and developing individual and team skills and capabilities. Able to create and maintain enthusiasm for new and challenging goals. Serve as a role model by promoting new ideas and positive change. + Current knowledge of the latest manufacturing technology, productivity and quality measurements, and material/planning systems requiring continual review of methods to optimize productivity. Office / Sedentary Requirements: + Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day), ability to hear the telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may also require the ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
