Mesa Energy Systems is a HVAC mechanical services company that provides fully integrated solutions for preventative maintenance and repair, upgrading existing mechanical, electrical, and controls systems to provide the most efficient economic solutions to meet customer expectations. **Job Title:** Operator Assistant **Principal Duties and Responsibilities** + Perform general cleaning and housekeeping duties to maintain plant safety and operational standards + Complete shift round checklist as required + Assist with light maintenance and support tasks on plant systems and equipment + Provide coverage during Plant Operator breaks, including monitoring of plant systems from designated control stations + Contact the Plant Operator immediately if any critical system parameter deviates from normal range or in the event of an emergency condition + Observes plant safety protocols, environmental guidelines, and performs assigned tasks in a safe manner. + Knowledge of the functions and mechanics of pumps, electrical equipment, machinery and instrumentation along with the ability to inspect machinery and mechanical equipment. + Alert for unsafe acts and conditions. + Support the Plant Operator and maintenance + Performs other duties which are similar, related, or incidental to this position, including duties assigned to other job titles. **Job Specifications** (incl. Education requirements, minimal experience, computer skills required, etc.) + High school diploma or equivalent experience. + Previous power plant or related experience preferred. + Perform general cleaning and housekeeping duties to maintain plant safety and operational standards + Conduct accurate analysis of readings and logs systems accurately. + Fills the role of relief by providing coverage and monitoring to assist with preventative and corrective maintenance. + Perform demanding physical tasks at times such as walking over rough or uneven surfaces, bending, stooping, working in confined spaces, and lifting or carrying moderately heavy items. + Adhere to safety protocols and environmental guidelines at all times + Ability to communicate clearly and concisely. + Must be willing to work rotating shifts for 24-hour coverage.
