Job DescriptionYou will maintain effective communication with the Shift Leader at all times and complete activities on the preventive maintenance schedule as specified in hotel plans by following all safety procedures while carrying out any tasks. You will responsible to look after all the tools supplied by the Hotel in a professional manner, and correctly maintain and deposit them after finishing the shift and to suggest cost saving ideas as and when possible, not limited to the Engineering Department. Respond and attend to guest repair requests.Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests.Understand and operate advanced electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and boiler systems.Very good, detailed knowledge on RO plant, Generator, Boiler, Fire pumps, Fire panelsCommunicate with different types of people to comprehend what they want and to provide them with information and assistance.Check for new maintenance requests from the Massage box and update remarks once the task is completed.Update the maintenance work order form for the message box.Ability to interpret readings from meters & gauges and other measuring units.Ability to focus attention on details, speed and accuracy.Ability to maintain confidentiality of hotel guests and pertinent hotel information.Ability to ensure security of guest room access and hotel property.Ability to read and understand test equipment, measuring devices, and safety manuals.Preform maintenance activities in the guest room like plunging toilets, unclogging drains, repairing all types of hardware, electrical equipment including lamps, air conditioners / HVAC and AC ducts.Perform maintenance activities in hotel public areas like plunging toilets, unclogging drains, repairing all types of hardware, plumbing and electrical equipment and cosmetic items.Program TV's and perform general housekeeping and engineering-related inventory duties.Test, troubleshoot and perform basic repair on all types of equipment.To clean, lubricate, protect, and otherwise maintain all tools and equipment in the hotel.To operate as an independent mechanic by analyzing problems, identifying courses of action, and implementing solutions with available resources and to a high degree of quality.To be available for any emergencies and act in an engineering capacity to protect guests and associates and preserve the building and its systems during the emergency.To monitor fire Alarm / Life Safety System systems as necessary, to be fully informed of the system operation and to handle emergencies involving the systems.Read and understand blueprints, schematic drawings, and technical parts breakdown.Carry out specific oral and written instructions.Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.Maintains the hotel facility and related equipment in a safe and efficient manner.Performs other duties as assigned by Engineering Supervisor or Chief Engineer.Train and instruct other members of the staff through sharing of knowledge and skills.Electronic knowledgeQualificationsEducation/Experience/Background:
High School Diploma/GED is required.Must have the ability to read, write and comprehend English (operational, process, safety and quality instructions). Must have the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.Six months to two years of experience in a related position and environment with knowledge of the methods, techniques, and practices of water/wastewater treatment.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Must consistently demonstrate the ability to learn and independently operate assigned machines and equipment meeting or exceeding processing and quality targets.Must demonstrate ability to learn and independently operate equipment such as pumps, engines, centrifuge, generators, valves, gates, mixers, conveyors, blowers, dryers, chemical feed, odor control, disinfection equipment, sludge processing filters, belt presses and measuring/control devices, testing equipment and material handling equipment.Must demonstrate a working ability to use computer programs for process control.Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily.Must be able to serve rotational 24-hour emergency on-call if required by site.Required Certification/Licenses/Training:
Employee Orientation, Departmental Operating Procedures, Safety, OSHA and Quality Training. HAZWOPER (Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response) Level I and II certification within 6 months of hire date if required by site.Cross-training if feasible.Must become proficient in the care and use of all site specific, facility required PPE (Personal Protection Equipment), including respirators, gas detectors, confined space equipment, etc.)Forklift Certification if required at site. Work toward higher level water treatment certification.May perform more advanced functions as part of training and development.Must possess a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.Physical Requirements:
