The Plant Manager of our Crothersville, Indiana plant is primarily responsible and accountable for making decisions that affect employee health & safety, employee relations, employee growth & development, facility profitability, quality of products, customer satisfaction, and local/regional community relationships. Develops manufacturing budgets and plans to meet production goals within budget.

The Crothersville, Indiana Plant Manager leads the plant of approx 200 team members in making electrical wire products. This role is primarily responsible and accountable for making decisions that affect employee health & safety, employee relations, employee growth & development, facility profitability, quality of products, customer satisfaction, and local/regional community relationships.  Develops manufacturing budgets and plans to meet production goals within budget. 

Minimum Requirements and QualificationsBachelor’s degree in business or engineering preferred10+ years experience in manufacturing, including experience in a supervisory or managerial capacity, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.5+ years manufacturing experience in a process-based environment; wire and cable experience preferred.5+ years manufacturing plant/general management experienceExtensive and proven experience in Lean Manufacturing, strong track record of leading in a continuous improvement environment.Six Sigma / Lean Manufacturing Experience / Training

Major Responsibility Areas and DutiesLead all aspects of the manufacturing operations and development activities of the plant to achieve short and long-term goals to meet customer and company expectations.Drive world-class processes in the areas of EH&S, developing a solid safety culture within the plant in order to achieve an accident-free work environment, providing prompt and effective action to eliminate unsafe acts or conditions as they become apparent.Propose and execute plant operational budgets, capital budgets, sales forecasts and resource requirements.Lead the manufacturing functions in the plant on all shifts to ensure on-time production and shipment of conforming products and materials. Including: planning the production flow, troubleshooting manufacturing issues, handling staffing issues, and monitoring production orders and schedules.Develop and implement sustainable manufacturing processes needed to manufacture high-quality products on time.Identify opportunities for improvement across the plant in relation to process, equipment, facilities and staffing and drive implementation in a spirit of continuous improvement.Maintain and control plant inventories to inventory plan to meet anticipated customer demands without excess investment.Responsible for the integrity of all the plant related data and information.Continually monitor results achieved in relation to planned goals, and undertake necessary corrective action to achieve the desired results.Drive the implementation and execution of robust quality systems to ensure product quality meets and exceeds customer expectations.Manage plant project list to set priorities and ensure they are completed in a timely manner.Develop and engage with all employees in order to develop a favorable employee relations environment and work with staff members on their personal growth and development goals to ensure employees feel encouraged and motivated to contribute at their full potential.Provide leadership for problem resolution to facilitate faster improvements and improved working relations.Skills/AbilitiesStrong leadership skills and presenceDemonstrated history of hiring, retaining, and promoting team membersAbility to build a safety-focused culture that is a great place to workUnderstand the financials of the plant and drive the necessary improvements to achieve and exceed financial and production targetsAction and solution-oriented leader with strong sense of urgencyStrong focus on understanding and meeting Customer needsAbility to manage multiple prioritiesAbility to build people’s capabilities – Coach and develop teamsResults oriented with excellent organizational, problem solving, and interpersonal skillsSeeks out information to understand root causes and drive effective decision-makingProven knowledge in budgeting, expense management, and capital equipment analysisKnowledge of plant manufacturing systemsDemonstrated ability to lead people and get results through othersClear understanding of effective manufacturing practices in the areas of safety, quality, cost, productivity, and deliveryAbility to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with customers and employees at all levelsComputer proficiency (especially MS Office: Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
