Plant Manager

What you will do

The Plant Manager is accountable for all aspects of our Lancaster, TX plant performance, including safely delivering all products on-time, with the right quality, and at the targeted cost. The PM leads the development and execution of departmental strategies and plans that achieve our safety, revenue, operating profit, quality, and lean manufacturing objectives.

The Plant Manager must demonstrate knowledge and expertise in their departmental subject area including lean manufacturing principles, departmental strategy development and execution, and departmental technology.  The position will coach and develop Operations talent, mentor project teams, and ensure linkage of corporate objectives to manufacturing activities. Critical to this function are the planning and managing of budgets and coordination of facility initiatives.

How you will do it

Oversee all elements of day-to-day plant operations to ensure Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) commitments are met in an agile environment

Develop and deploy long-term (1-3 year) plant strategies that align with corporate objectives and targets

Balance the day-to-day execution of operations with long-term vision achievement

Work across locations with other plant leadership to benchmark and share standard processes, and identify solutions to common challenges

Display strong organizational skills and be detail-oriented

Think abstractly and implement action-oriented solutions to ambiguous or undefined problems

Establish and execute plant policies, and procedures and coordinate plant operations

Drive overall operational excellence and continuous improvement through the application of Lean practices and processes

Create and sustain healthy communication channels across departments and functions at all levels

Demonstrate leadership in people management, motivational, and teambuilding skills

Increase production, asset capacity, and flexibility while minimizing costs and maintaining quality standards

Build capabilities, tools, and processes to analyze and deliver globally cost-competitive products, including evaluation of make vs. buy decisions

Own and deploy the culture of financial compliance and controls in alignment with the company’s overall requirements and principles

Create a strong operations talent base and have a positive impact on morale by coaching and motivating team members in support of their optimum performance and career development

Organize and apply change management principles to successfully engage the workforce, implement initiatives, and improve morale

What we look for

Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline, Business Administration, Industrial Management, or a related field

Minimum 10 years of progressive plant operations experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Continuous Improvement, Material Management, Quality, or Production Management

5+ years’ experience as a Plant Manager with demonstrated successful execution of Key Performance Indicators (KPI), strategic initiatives, and team building and collaboration

5+ years of Lean Manufacturing experience, including the development and deployment of Value Stream Mapping, roadmaps, and kaizen leadership with successful event facilitation and leadership, and the development, deployment, and sustainment of Lean Daily Management systems

Process experience in high-volume metal-cutting and automated assembly environments with high attention to quality and reliability

 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience in the plumbing products industry

Demonstrated knowledge and application of business and planning systems, such as Oracle/JD Edwards and Blue Yonder

Certification in Lean Manufacturing principles and development, deployment, and sustainment of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) principles, in particular

Process experience in metal finishing environments

Experience in the development, deployment, and sustainment of safety, quality, and/or environmental management systems such as ISO9001, ISO14001, and/or SafeStart
