Description

The North Indianapolis Plant Manager is responsible for safely leading a 24hr underground and surface mining operations. This includes leading safety, plant operations, financial planning, budgeting, quality control, customer service, asset management, cost control, environmental, personnel and community relations.   Essential Functions                 Lead and influence safe performance and behaviors for underground and surface mining operations that drive Martin Marietta’s Guardian Angel culture. Lead, develop, and mentor the salary and hourly workforce that supports business goals and expectations. Establish and lead production, safety, and environmental objectives and metrics. Responsible for the planning and scheduling of plant activities to include production, maintenance and training activities. Complete daily, weekly, and monthly reporting for all plant functions in an accurate and timely manner, including safety, production, and maintenance. Ensure products meet customer quality expectations. Ensure housekeeping and plant appearance standards always meet company and customer expectations. Other duties as assigned. Competencies Safety Minded Strong Communication Skills Strong Management Skills Mentorship Ability to Multitask Leadership Team Builder Decision Making High Sense of Urgency Drive for Results Relationship Building Attention to Detail Analytical Supervisory Responsibility  This position will lead multiple salaried direct reports and an hourly crew up to 50 employees.   Work Environment  This job operates frequently in an operations and maintenance environment at an underground and surface mining location.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as a computer, phone, and copier. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position and will require 40+ hours per week.   Required Education and Experience A bachelor’s degree in management or engineering preferred or equivalent work/military experience Seven or more years of supervisory experience in the mining industry of aggregate based construction materials such as limestone.  Knowledge of MSHA regulations Preferred Qualifications Skill Trade Certification(s) Bilingual
