POSITION SUMMARY:
Assists the General Manager in the direction and coordination activities of industrial organization to obtain optimum efficiency and economy of operations and maximize profits by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate managers.
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
A minimum of ten (10) years of automotive manufacturing experienceBachelor's degree or equivalent combination of work and educationPossess excellent leadership abilitiesExtensive experience with lean manufacturing conceptsExtensive experience with Cost of QualityCertified in various problem solving methodologies (Six Sigma, Red X, Lean, etc.)Minimum of 5 years of auditing experienceMust possess exceptional communication skills both verbal and writtenNegotiating and explanation skills are requiredExcellent organizational and interpersonal skills along with a strong sense of time managementTechnical communication / understanding of company processesMust have the ability to work independently with minimal supervisionDUTIES:
Assists in establishing current and long range objectives, plans and policies.Structures and organizes plant operations team, processes, and procedures for MSCCreates and fosters positive relationships with production hourly workforce and leads team in plant operation expectationsEnsures and enforces plant guidelines, policies, and expectations for plant operationAdvises, guides, directs and authorizes personnel to carry out major plans and procedures consistent with established policies and corporate approval.Assists in managing the adequacy and soundness of the division’s financial structure.Reviews operating results of the division. Compares them to established objectives.Ensures appropriate measures are taken to correct unsatisfactory results.Establishes and maintains an effective system of communications throughout the division.Assists in representing the division with major customers, financial community and the public.Assists in planning, developing and implementing organization policies and goals.Coordinates activities of departments.Assists in directing and coordinating the promotion of products manufactured or services performed to develop new markets, increase market share and obtain competitive position in the industry.Assists in analyzing division or department budget requests to identify areas in which reductions can be made. Assists in the allocation of the operating budget.Participates in problem solving and continuous improvement activities.As instructed by the General Manager, will direct, promote and review programs relating to safety, quality and productivity in the division and recommend changes where desirable. Performs regular workplace inspections and monitors compliance with all Health and Safety and ISO14001 policies and procedures.Assists in development and implementation of quality procedures, work instructions and standards. Understands Magna Seating Columbus’s quality policy and assures compliance with ISO/IATF systems.Conducts performance reviews informally or formally as required and ensures performance reviews are completed for all employees.Builds and fosters teamwork within the department creating an environment where team members are respectful (people, property, equipment), work together, communicate effectively and lend a hand when/where required.Ensures suppliers are performing work safely while in operations work areas/zones when applicable.Attends departmental and plant-wide communication meetings as scheduled.Complies with, supports and models MSC’s operational procedures/policies, Employee Handbook, and Magna’s Employee’s Charter, Corporate Constitution, and Operational Principles.Complies with relevant Quality and Environmental programs (e.g. TS16949, ISO14001).Complies with all Health and Safety programs in accordance with OSHA.Follows and ensures Production Associates follow all Company procedures and regulations regarding safety.Other duties as required.Awareness, Unity, Empowerment:At Magna, we believe that a diverse workforce is critical to our success.
