The Plant Manager is responsible for leading all site-related activities and functions including distribution and manufacturing, both directly and indirectly. Responsible for site performance to achieve key performance indicators.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversight to plant safety (zero incident culture) Manage Operating Budget Lead continuous improvement initiativesInventory:Work with both Supply Chain and Master Planner/Scheduler to maintain raw material stock / reorder levels. Maintain accurate inventory levels including cycle counts and annual physical inventoryProduction:Work with Master Planner/Scheduler on fulfilling production requirements.Accountable for production quality. Maintain MRO spending budget. Implement Lean Manufacturing improvements where needed. Maintenance: Direct maintenance department activities to ensure maximum uptime.Ensure preventative maintenance schedule is adhered to. Shipping & ReceivingOversee shipping & receiving department to maximum cost efficiency and ensure on-time delivery.Maintain plant cleanliness & organization in accordance with 5s methodology. Employee Management: Maintain appropriate staffing levels in accordance with production needsResponsible for approving employee work schedules/time/attendance.Ensuring compliance with performance management/attendance policyDevelop team members using STEP program and other developmental toolsPerform additional projects, duties or assignments as directed by management. QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPENTENCIES:College degree in business or engineering, or related experience required. Supervisory experience in a manufacturing, fabrication and/or machine shop environment preferred.Lean manufacturing background preferred. Proficient in basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).ERP/MRP software experience needed. Excellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to manage, direct, and motivate a team.Ability to multitask and set prioritiesAbility to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)Minimal travel required.Valid Driver’s License preferredFollowing receipt of a conditional offer of employment, candidates will be required to complete additional job-related screening processes as permitted or required by applicable law.
