The Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled Plant Engineer to join our Building Operations and Services team in CSL Melbourne to support the operational performance of the facility’s process and building utilities.
You will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, compliance, and efficiency of critical utility systems including WFI, Pure Steam, HVAC, Boilers, and more. You’ll work closely with R&D and Global Engineering teams to support operational readiness, maintenance, and continuous improvement.
This is a 12 month Fixed term / Secondment opportunity based at our CSL Melbourne site.
Your Responsibilities
Reporting to the Technical Services Lead – Building Operations & Services, you will:
Troubleshoot and resolve issues across plant and building utilitiesSupport shutdowns, start-ups, and maintenance activitiesLead resolution of utility-related deviations and non-conformances and maintain accurate asset data and documentationMaintain SAP master data and ensure documentation is up to dateRespond to in-hours and out-of-hours alarmsConduct risk and criticality assessments, and plan spare parts procurementAct as a key liaison between R&D and Engineering stakeholdersYour Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)Experience working in a Pharma manufacturing space and similar Plant Operations role of maintaining operations, shutdown planning, preventative maintenance, planning and spare parts ordering is preferredStrong knowledge of complex engineering systems – e.g., HVAC, WFI and PFSFamiliarity with FDA, TGA, OGTR regulations and validation practicesExperience with automation systems (e.g., Siemens PCS7) preferredExcellent communication and stakeholder engagement skillsWhy CSL?
