Manages the design, funding and installation of equipment/ facilities improvement projects. **Responsibilities** 1. Responsible for compliance with applicable Federal, State and local safety and health, environmental, building and fire ordinances and standards. 2. Responsible for the proper operation and maintenance of the facilities HVAC, compressed air, chill water, and electrical systems. 3. Prepare capital expenditure requests and justifications for improvement projects. 4. Responsible for achieving budget, schedule, and goals established for projects. 5. Seeks bids on construction, alteration or installation work as required. Administer contracts and coordinate work performed to ensure expectations are met. 6. Manage the design, funding, and installation of new equipment/facilities capabilities. 7. Establish and maintain policies to insure product, facility, and employee safety to include pollution control, preventive maintenance, energy and utility issues, and OSHA compliance. 8. Facilitate energy related activities – review/approve utility invoices, project future utility needs, initiate energy conservation and cost reduction programs. 9. Assist with Product Safety Activities to include pest control compliance, ASI/SQF compliance, and other food/drug safety requirements. 10. Develop, implement, and manage environmental programs, policies, and procedures. 11. Identify hazardous conditions/actions within the plant and recommend/implement corrective measures. 12. Manage the Contractor Safety Program and ensure compliance. 13. Generate cost saving opportunities. 14. Accepts responsibility to comply with all safety, quality, customer, ISO, SQF and any other regulatory requirements. And has the authority to report concerns that could impact these requirements or suggest areas for improvement. 15. Perform other duties as assigned. **Qualifications** 1. B.S. degree in Engineering or related field. 2. Excellent written and oral communication skills. 3. 3-5 years related experience in an industrial setting. 4. Strong organizational skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously. 5. Extensive knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other government regulations. 6. Above average computer skills and ability to quickly learn new systems. 7. Must have good judgment and sound decision making skills. 8. Capable of physical mobility including walking, sitting, bending, twisting, standing, pushing, pulling and lifting (up to 50 pounds periodically w/ lift assist device). 9. Able to work in a production environment, recognizing various sounds and alarms. 10.
