Responsibilities

The Plant Director will monitor and coordinate the effective and efficient utilization of employees through proactive, high participation work team involvement. The position directs all day to day activities of the plant consistent with company policies and procedures.

 

Essential Functions

Foster and enhance the safety culture to achieve safety excellenceProvide operational and employee leadership to the facilityManage financial performance and make required changes as needed to meet business commitmentsManage all aspects of the plant cost structure including direct and indirect labor, maintenance and consumable spending and pro-actively control to business volume swings to preserve profitabilityAssist operating management with budgeting, production statistics, cost analysis, justification of capital expenditures and asset managementLead the facility in establishing and meeting continuous improvement objectivesPartner with department managers to develop and maintain a positive culture consistent with Berry Global values, behaviors and missionEncourage and support the development of all plant employeesResponsible for overall performance efficiencies and competitive service level for the plantParticipate in process improvement and cost savings effortsResponsible for incorporating continuous quality improvement principles into daily quality cultureAssures compliance with state and federal regulatory matters including OSHA, EPA, EEO and Affirmative Action, Quality AuditsOverall management responsibility for the implementation of mandatory and best practice sharing for cost savings, safety compliance and reduced employee hazard exposureCoordinates the effective utilization of production capacity, staffing and equipment through planning, organizing and schedulingContinuously improves customer satisfaction through programs to provide on-time delivery that meets and/or exceeds customer quality and cost expectationsOverall management responsibility for all aspects of quality including product performance, complaint resolution, customer satisfaction and maintenance and improvement of quality systemsMaintains a sense of urgency and accountability in the plant to ensure prompt responses to employee needsEnsures the protection of company assets through appropriate maintenance methodologiesMonitors raw materials and supplies on hand to ensure adequate supplyMaintain 24 hour/day on call availability to deal with potential problems/issues Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree required or equivalent experienceKnowledge of and experience with injection molding manufacturing processesKnowledge of and experience in leading a progressive manufacturing facilityStrong organizational skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneouslyExcellent analytical skills requiredKnowledge of Microsoft office toolsStrong planning/organizing skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced team settingAbility to effectively communicate/present findings to a wide variety of audiences
