**Your role at Clorox:**
The Plant Controller for our Glad manufacturing facility in Orangeville will be responsible for all accounting month end tasks, financial reporting, the annual budget process, standard costing and quarterly forecasting. They will also provide operational support to the plant with supervision over plant purchases and scheduling. They will also act as a financial support across departments in the plant and be the lead on any cost saving initiatives. They will also be a member of the plant leadership team and a liaison to the business team at the corporate office.
Position manages 1 direct report.
**In this role, you will:**
1. Ownership of plants month-end closing:
+ review, approve & post journal entries and accruals
+ management of plants operating spending
+ explain variances between actual & forecast
+ management of $/Unit, volume
+ Purchase Price Variance, Material Usage Variance, Special Work Projects, Spending, Volume variance analysis and capitalization of variances
+ publish month-end results and analysis reports
+ review monthly reconciliations for Balance Sheet accts (Accrued Liabilities, Payroll deductions, AR Others, Inventory accounts, etc)
2. Ownership of annual budget and quarterly forecast for both plants:
+ develop the annual budget and quarterly forecasts
+ develop and provide analysis of annual Long Range Plan
+ Ownership of plant SWP's, budget and variances
+ Ownership of Cost Savings
+ Develop Standard cost and update LX standards annually at Budget time
+ Support to the Canadian Glad business team
3. Operations duties:
+ ownership of the inventory management
+ investigate material variances root cause through Kaizens, FIs working with QA and production team
+ monthly explanations for inventory variances +/- $5K US
+ supervisory responsibilities for plant inventory purchases &production scheduling
+ member of the Plant Leadership team
4. Other duties:
+ corporate audits: internal Supply Chain audits,& support to Canada Finance with HST, brokerage, freight, etc.
+ Internal Control testing for the plants
+ Supporting Supply Chain with new product opportunities (costing requests)
+ New systems implementation support: e.g. BPCS upgrade, Planning tool, SAP
+ Maintainer of plant BCP
5. Financial & operation costing analysis, Cont. Imp Activities/Capital Projects/New products: CI activity, Capital Projects, New Products, etc..
6. Fixed Asset process ownership
+ New Capital spending analysis and CIP reconciliations, write offs, capitalizations for plant, annual Fixed Assets inventory at the plant
8. Ownership of Accounts Payables: Approval of of invoices and GL coding in the P2P AP system
9. Ownership of Annual Physical Inventory at the Orangeville Glad plant
10. Performance Tracking Pillar Responsibilities: Scorecard reporting to the Plant and US
**What we look for:**
• CPA or equivalent designation
• Preferably CPG and manufacturing industry background, 5+ years experience
• Solid understanding and working knowledge of ERP systems (eg SAP) is a strong asset
• Ability to think strategically on a cross-functional basis, balancing long-term strategic issues and short-term tactical issues.
• Strong leadership skills. Ability to lead teams, develop staff, implement significant initiatives and drive toward “world class” performance.
• Strong financial analytical capabilities and forecast experience.
• Solid understanding of other functional areas (sales, marketing, product supply)
