We are looking for a curious and commercially-minded Planning & Performance Analyst to join our Finance team. This role is a great opportunity for someone who thrives on solving problems, connecting dots and turning data into meaningful business insights.
You’ll play a key part in driving performance across PwC New Zealand by supporting strategic decisions with a combination of data analytics, business acumen and great communication.
Here are a few things you’ll be doing:
Business Acumen: You’ll apply your accounting knowledge and business acumen to interpret financial data, understand what is behind the numbers, and support decision making across Business Units.
Financial Modelling and Forecasting: You’ll develop and maintain forecasting models and planning tools that provide both predictive insights and practical recommendations.
Data Analysis & Reporting: You’ll extract, analyse and visualise data using tools such as SQL and Power BI, solving problems with an investigative mindset.
Collaboration & Communication: You’ll work with a range of stakeholders - from finance peers to partners - adapting your communication style to clearly and confidently share insights that drive action.
Strategic Projects Support: You’ll contribute to strategic initiatives, providing analytical support that contributes to the success of key projects led by the Planning & Performance Directors.
Continuous Development: You’ll keep developing your technical and analytical skills, while growing as a trusted adviser and problem-solver in a high-performing, supportive team.
Ngā pūkenga kei a koe / Skills and experience
Qualified CA / CPA or studying towards an appropriate accounting qualification (essential)
A high level of skill with a suite of Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel to create easy to use financial models and support existing business models.
Good level of proficiency with Power BI in analysing data and building reports and dashboards, noting that further training will be provided.
Familiarity with SQL and the ability to work with large data sets independently.
Investigative and curious approach to analysis, with the ability to connect insights to business outcomes.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and engage with key stakeholders at all levels.
