Job Description

BESIX Watpac have an exciting opportunity for a Planning Manager to join our Victorian team working as a part of a close knit and collaborative team. Duties include;

Proactively drive company safety policies, practices and procedures in compliance with OH&S legislative requirements to provide a safe workplace at all times.Work with the pre-contracts team to develop design and construction programmes, and methodologies for tenders, cost plans, expressions of interest, and other submissions.Meet and report on program status with the clients representatives Develop tender programmes into project programmes (contract programmes and target programmes) for successful tenders.Regular monitoring and status reporting, to management and the project teams, on the progress of projects within your portfolio. Assist the project teams with the recording and presentation of extension of time claims.As directed, review and update project programmes during project execution. Record progress on both Watpac and competitor sites, to maintain industry databases on productivity rates, project performance, contingencies and construction methods.Provide programming support and advice to the BESIX Watpac site team.Liaise with external planning consultants when required.

Qualifications

The incumbent in this role will require the following qualifications and experience:

Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management or a recognised equivalent.Understanding of the commercial requirements associated with the tender process.Proven ability to manage several complex tasks simultaneously to tight deadlinesAbility to communicate, influence and build effective relationships at all levels of the business with a particularly strong internal customer focus. Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning, listening and decision making skills.Demonstrated ability to deliver results in a high pressure environment.Results driven team player who can build and gain cooperation and commitment from others to contribute to customer goals and priorities.Ability to exercise commercial judgement when setting priorities.
