Planning Manager

Basic Qualifications

For this position to be successful, the incumbent should have:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, Management Information Systems, or a related field from an accredited institution. Minimum 4 years of experience in a similar role that shows progressive accountability within a manufacturing environment.  Demonstrated proficiency in ERP/MRP and Microsoft Office  Experience with S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) processes. Position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee. 

 

Preferred Qualifications

For this position to be successful, preference is given to candidates with: 

Proficiency in Oracle ERP.  Understanding of financials (P&L and Balance Sheet). Proven interpersonal skills to motivate and influence others, including those not under their direct supervision.  Demonstrated ability of problem solving, systems thinking, project management, and team building. 

 

Working Conditions

This position involves minimal exposure to risk of accident and requires following basic safety precautions. Work is normally performed in an interior work environment. While not exposed to hazardous materials, this position requires wearing full PPE to protect from mobile equipment and hot materials when on the shop floor. 

This position requires light physical activity, such as walking, sitting, and standing for extended periods of time.

This position also requires a willingness to maintain a flexible work schedule and travel domestically, as requested. 

Primary Purpose of Job

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, this position is responsible for Supply Chain Planning functions of the HSS CLV Aerospace operations, including planning, materials management, and contributions to the S&OP (Sales, & Operations Planning Process), in coordination with the commercial, operations and finance teams.

Accountabilities:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Materials Management – planning, ordering and raw material inventory management  Production Planning – job planning, release to production, task date management and WIP inventory management Tooling Planning – repair and refurbishment schedule management Staffing Planning – headcount planning management S&OP process contributor – capacity planning, supply planning and inventory planning, culminating in financial forecast inputs Includes revenue forecast, on time delivery and arrears projections and improvement, inventory projections and improvement The Planning Manager coordinates with shop floor planning activity and interfaces with operations, maintenance teams as well as plant/area scheduling resources Coordination with die management to ensure the plan aligns with die availability and repair / refurbishment activities are prioritized to maximize throughput and customer OTIF
