Planner & Buyer

Role Summary:

As a Planner & Buyer, your primary function involves quoting, planning and scheduling to meet product & material delivery specifications. You will coordinate across various departments such as engineering, purchasing, sales and operations to ensure product & material delivery specifications are met.


Responsibilities & Requirements:

Place purchase orders with suppliers for the procurement of production material as required by forecast and the production scheduleMonitor status of open purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery of all materials, including timely resolution, communication and mitigation of future potential problemsExpedite or defer orders as required based on schedule/inventory changesDetermine and establish optimal inventory levels based on forecast, demand variation and material lead timesCoordinate material flows throughout product/BOM changes, obsolescenceManage the inter-company flow or materials between warehouse locationsManage and resolve issues regarding PO to invoice discrepancies, returns and quality problems with suppliersProvide back-up support for supply chain functions including shipping, receiving, material handling and other duties as assignedSetup & maintain material master system planning parameters (MOQ, lead time, safety stocks)Ensure compliance to Company and Procurement policies and procedures



Preferred Experience / Skills:

Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a buyer / planner / material scheduler role working for a direct manufacturerKnowledge in using Oracle system will be added advantages (or having SAP / MRP system knowledge also is preferred)Proficient with MS Office suite such as MS ExcelStrong sense of urgency & attention to detailExcellent organization, communication and follow-up skillsAble to speak & writing EnglishDiploma / Degree in any major
