PJU Applications Engineer

Weatherford is seeking a PJU Application Engineer to perform technical services for oil and gas operations. This role involves applying standard techniques and procedures for various products and services, troubleshooting technical issues, and serving as the key interface with clients at well sites. The position requires strong technical knowledge, excellent client relationship skills, and the ability to work in a dynamic field environment.
Key Responsibilities
+ Participate in daily operations and safety meetings, including toolbox talks and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA)
+ Maintain equipment and work areas in safe, presentable conditions
+ Monitor and analyze data to recommend optimal services and solutions
+ Perform comprehensive job planning, tool preparation, mobilization, and execution
+ Provide 24-hour availability to respond to customer needs
+ Test, operate, and maintain tools according to established procedures
+ Develop and maintain positive client relationships to ensure repeat business
+ Follow up on equipment failures and contribute to Root Cause Analysis reports
+ Perform engineering calculations and data interpretation as needed
+ Design, analyze, and troubleshoot Pulling and Jacking Units (PJU) systems and components
+ Conduct structural integrity assessments for PJU equipment and related infrastructure
+ Develop technical specifications and procedures for PJU operations
+ Provide field support for PJU installation, commissioning, and maintenance
Requirements
+ Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
+ 2 - 5 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry
+ Have experience doing structural design work, particularly for load-bearing components and frameworks
+ Knowledge of mechanics, electricity, electronics, pneumatics, and/or hydraulics
+ Strong mathematical and basic physics/chemistry knowledge
+ Excellent time management and decision-making skills
+ Service-oriented mindset with strong quality control focus
+ Physical capability to perform required field tasks
+ Experience with structural analysis and design of oil field equipment
+ Understanding of load calculations, stress analysis, and material selection for PJU components
Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software
+ Previous work with Pulling and Jacking Units in oil and gas applications
+ Familiarity with API standards related to lifting equipment and structural design
+ Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) for structural components
+ Knowledge of wellhead equipment and downhole tools
Additional Information
Travel Requirement: Up to 10% domestic and potentially international travel to PJU installation and operation sites.
