Job Title: Piping Designer
Job Description

As a Piping Designer, you will play a pivotal role in implementing assignments and activities delegated by the Group Supervisor. You will work closely with drafters, designers, engineers, and support personnel to plan, schedule, ensure quality, and execute projects. Your responsibilities will include managing the completion of all required deliverables such as construction drawings, design studies, and bills of materials. You will provide guidance, training, and assistance to designers, checkers, and drafters, as well as manage a segment of a project under the direction of the assigned Group Supervisor. Coordination with client and construction personnel will be essential to ensure that job requirements are addressed and implemented consistently with contractual obligations.

ResponsibilitiesImplement assignments and activities delegated from the Group Supervisor.Execute project objectives by collaborating with drafters, designers, engineers, and support personnel.Manage the completion of deliverables including construction drawings, design studies, and bills of materials.Schedule work assignments and provide guidance, training, and assistance to designers, checkers, and drafters.Manage a segment of a project under the direction of the Group Supervisor.Coordinate with client and construction personnel to ensure job requirements are met.Assist in the preparation of engineering and construction estimates and related documentation.Estimate project design and drafting manpower requirements.Approve drawings to ensure conformance with codes, specifications, and discipline standards.Maintain engineering document indices and drafting progress reports.Confirm checking and approval for all vendor shop drawings.Perform all other duties as assigned.Essential SkillsMinimum 7-10 years of piping design experience in the power or energy & chemicals industry.High School diploma or Associates Degree with adequate drafting courses.Strong CAD skills with experience in AutoCad, Microstation, or Revit.Overall understanding of technical disciplines and project execution.Ability to mentor, lead, train, and motivate employees.Research skills, analytical and creative problem-solving skills.Project and time management skills.Proficient in CADWorx, Navisworks, Microsoft Office, Bluebeam Revu, and Smartplant.Additional Skills & QualificationsPreferred experience with Plant 3D and/or Aveva E3D.Chemical, Refinery, Power, LNG background.Strong supervision skills.Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.Experience with Autocad, Microstation, Autodesk or Bentley Structural packages, AVEVA E3D or PDMS software.Work Environment

Work will primarily be conducted in a general office environment within a fast-paced setting. Occasionally, you will be required to work in an industrial location where noise levels may range from moderate to high. Job sites may include light to heavy equipment vehicles, large machinery, materials, communication equipment, tools, and personnel engaged in various activities such as standing, walking, sitting, signaling, and talking.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $70.00/hr.
