Pipeline Operator
Total Number of Openings 1 **Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Pipeline Operator at Sweeny, TX through July 30th, 2025, through 11.59pm** Key Responsibilities: • Support daily pipeline operations, including mechanical, technical, and electrical tasks. • Perform tasks such as valve and manifold line-ups (simple and complex), equipment cleaning, orifice plate changes, meter proving, and product sampling. • Operate and perform maintenance on pipeline systems and associated equipment (examples include but not limited to monitor pressure, flow, temperature, starting up pipeline system, shutdown pipeline, • Evaluate alarm conditions as they occur and determine the proper course of action to correct the alarm condition. • Maintain cleanliness and organization in field, shop, and control room areas. • Perform Operator Routine Duties • Maintain rights-of-way, identify encroachments, and perform compliance inspections. • Launch and receive pipeline pigs. (cleaning, maintenance, & ILI's) • Commissioning, decommissioning of pipelines for maintenance, repairs, and projects. • Respond to emergencies and participate in drills. • Respond to inquiries regarding leaks and/or upsets, and take appropriate action to rectify • Inspect and maintain fire and safety equipment. • Perform minor repairs and assist with lockout/tagout procedures. • Writes safe work permits • Use SAP-PM for work management and notification creation. • Conduct visual inspections to ensure equipment is operating within design parameters. • Perform DOT valve inspections • Maintain proper Operator Qualifications • Learn and apply daily operational procedures, including: • Facility and system layout knowledge • Basic quality and safety principles • Routine maintenance and operational techniques • Customer-focused and business-oriented practices • Able to coordinate their own work and work with other team members or contractors in performing daily operations work processes • May support compliance inspections and participate in agency inspections. • May participate in project work as operations rep • Primary area of responsibility includes >500miles of complex pipelines, > 15 different petrochemical feedstocks/products, >115 facilities including meter stations, pump stations, valve sites and manifolds • Rotational On-call responsibility **Required Qualifications:** **High school diploma or equivalent.** **Minimum of** **5 years’ experience** **in pipeline or related industry.** **HAZWOPER Level III & V certification** **(or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire and maintain thereafter).** **Must meet** **DOT Operator Qualification** **requirements prior to performing covered tasks.** **Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record:** **No DWI/DUI in the past 3 years** **No more than 1 moving violation in the past 2 years** **Preferred Qualifications:** + Experience in pipeline operations or military service. + Familiarity with handling **highly volatile liquids (HVLs)** such as ethylene, propylene, hexane, propane, and NGLs. **Additional Information:** + Relocation assistance is not available. + Expatriate assignments will not be considered. **IMPORTANT NOTE** **:** As part of the application process, you will be required to take an assessment that measures aptitude and work styles.
