Pipeline Operations Superintendent

Job Overview:

The Pipeline Metering Superintendent will provide leadership and supervision for the Linde Metering system from Sweeny, Texas to St. Charles, Louisiana. Along with supporting metering operations at other remote sites, as needed. This Superintendent will plan, supervise and direct all operations and maintenance activities of the pipeline meter operations team.

Responsibilities Include, but are Not Limited To:

Ensure safe operations of the metering facilities.Supervise and monitor area staff to include work scheduling, documenting job training, and ensure each employee is competent to perform assigned job duties.Assist with the daily and periodic administrative tasks incidental to area operations and maintenance, such as, the preparation or verification of operations and maintenance reports (inspections reports, data inputs into Share sites, Flow computer programs), accounting records, along with other documents required by the Company or government entity.Will take the lead on new implications or metering projects; this will include, ordering of material, selection of contractors, projects overview during construction, and final checkout.Works with Engineering and Shared Services personnel during and after construction of Capital projects when appropriate and/or required.Ensure staff and contractors comply with all applicable federal, state and local statutes, regulations and requirements, In addition to Customer billing contracts.Promote and ensure full compliance with Company safety programs.Ensure full compliance with all Company standards, procedures, practices, and policies.Work with team to provide a superior level of service to each of our customers.Review records for area staff of time worked, expense reports, vehicle reports, and other workorder reports.Evaluate the performance of each direct report and provides annual feedback to the employee and the Operations Manager.Maintain a working knowledge of Compliance regulations and Company policies.Inspect area facilities on a routine basis to ensure fitness for service.Recommend capital improvements and replacements, and asset retirements.Assist the Manager in area spending to stay within approved budgets and assists in the preparation of annual budgets.Assist in forecasting and requisitioning supplies, materials, and equipment needed for the operations and maintenance of area facilities.Assist in development of new business activities and the expansion of existing business activities.

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

Works with Productivity team to produce positive financial gains.Works with Business / Sales on customer request and/or concerns.Works with Engineering and Business on the design and operations of new customer/ production meters.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:

A minimum of a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.Supervisory experience in electrical and instrumentation is bonus.A valid driver's license is required.A minimum of 10 years’ Operating/Engineering experience in Electrical and Instrumentation.Understanding of budgeting and financial process is bonus.Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite is required.The ability to assume responsibility, be flexible, perform duties and handle multiple tasks under potentially stressful and/or hazardous conditions.The ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with other individuals, teams, customers, and stakeholders of the business, at various levels of the organization, in a business-like and professional manner is required.The ability to modify communication style to influence, persuade, negotiate, and engage all parties according to the audience and circumstance is required.Takes initiative and is proactive in addressing issues. Quickly and efficiently completes tasks.The ability to demonstrate conscientiousness, dependability and commitment tothe role, team and company.
