Position Summary:

Manage the Integrity Management Programs (IMPs) as required by 49 CFR 192 & 195 for gas and hazardous liquid pipelines respectively for all MPLX G&P assets. This is a leadership position requiring strong technical knowledge, strategic thinking and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide leadership in managing the Integrity Management Programs (IMPs) in accordance with Federal and State pipeline regulatory requirements.

Lead a group of engineers responsible for ensuring internal and external pipeline integrity across Gathering & Processing (G&P).

Responsible for managing budgets for pipeline reassessment program which annually consists of in-line pipe inspections and associated data analysis and repair strategies.

Provide oversight of pipeline integrity assessment schedules, risk, fitness for service and assessment methodology

Provide departmental preparedness and oversight for company representation of State and Federal agency pipeline inspections.

Provide SME technical solutions and support of teams to capital, maintenance and special projects.

Provides technical guidance for pipeline assessments, evaluations, and repair methods to the Integrity repair group consisting of engineers, specialists, project managers, operations, etc.

Reviews risk model(s) for specific assets including coordination of data collection, understanding the risk algorithms, reviewing, and confirming results, and utilizing the risk output.

Lead continual improvements of MPLX’s IMP including the written plan, procedures, best practices, and processes to reduce safety risks.

Performs due diligence to support Pipeline Integrity efforts to update the IMP including the acquisition and divestment of operated assets.

This role requires approximately 25%-35% travel.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in Engineering (required)

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Pipeline Engineering, Pipeline Integrity and DOT Compliance disciplines in oil and gas industry

Leadership experience is strongly preferred. Experience with execution and management of engineering projects with specific focus on integrity management, threat assessments, fitness-for-service, and remaining life assessments

Experience in pipeline design, operations, and maintenance activities

Ability to apply technical knowledge in planning, conducting and coordinating difficult team and individual assignments

Proven ability to interact with and effectively manage input from multiple stakeholders to deliver business unit and enterprise goals.

Excellent communication skills and computer skills.

Working knowledge of applicable Federal and State pipeline regulations

NACE or AMPP or API Certification preferred

Professional Engineer (PE) preferred
