Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Pipeline Engineer to join our Phase 4 – Integrated Development Engineering Group. This position plays a critical role in leading and supporting all pipeline and subsea interconnection studies from Screening through to Conceptual and Pre-FEED stages. The successful candidate will ensure optimal engineering design and implementation of subsea pipelines, flexibles, and cables while minimizing CAPEX and OPEX without compromising safety or operational integrity.
Key Responsibilities – Not Limited to the below: Lead and support technical studies related to pipeline and subsea scopes within the project team. Manage engineering studies, including external scope execution and interface coordination. Develop and evaluate innovative, cost-effective, and safe pipeline designs, routing, and technologies. Interface with internal client departments and act as a focal point for pipeline-related topics. Prepare documentation, technical reports, and presentations for internal reviews and shareholder engagements. Ensure full compliance with operator and industry HSE standards throughout all phases of development. Identify, assess, and mitigate technical risks and integrate them into the overall project risk register. Collaborate closely with vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders, including Geomatics, Geotech, Corrosion, PLR, Structures, and Process teams. Support pipeline-related CAPEX estimation and constructability planning. Propose and process derogations when required and ensure alignment with company referential. Contribute to multi-disciplinary and transverse team collaboration across the group.
Required Qualifications & Experience Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Master’s degree preferred). Experience: Minimum 15 years in pipeline engineering within the oil and gas sector, with significant exposure to offshore subsea pipelines, flexibles, and cable systems. Demonstrated expertise across the full project lifecycle, particularly in early development phases (Screening, Concept, Pre-FEED). Solid technical foundation in pipeline technology selection, routing, coatings, crossings, materials, offshore installation, and execution planning. Strong background in coordinating external engineering scopes and leading technical evaluations. Prior experience with CAPEX/OPEX optimization strategies and innovative engineering solutions. Excellent command of English (written and spoken), strong interpersonal and leadership skills, and ability to thrive in multicultural, cross-functional teams. Proficient in MS Office and industry-standard pipeline design tools.
