Job Description

The pilot plant operator will serve as a basic manufacturing helper within an environment dedicated to producing dog and cat food and treats. The role requires working in a clean room environment with a focus on cleaning and sanitizing floors, machines, walls, and components. Additionally, the position involves performing basic lab sampling and assisting more advanced compounder operators with daily operations.

ResponsibilitiesAssist in mixing cleaning solutions and sanitizing machines between production runs.Handle raw materials and ingredients such as whey, protein, corn, flour, liver, chicken, and beef scrap.Weigh and record sample data accurately.Receive and record materials in the Dry Ingredients area using a computer.Transport samples to and from the Analytical Lab area.Operate a forklift to move incoming pallets after receiving appropriate training.Essential SkillsExperience in production and manufacturing environments.Skills in mixing, blending, and operating mixers.Knowledge of handling dry ingredients and weighing materials.Experience in warehouse operations and receiving processes.Proficiency in maintaining sanitation and quality standards.Additional Skills & QualificationsMinimum experience in manufacturing and/or sanitation.Work Environment

The work schedule is Monday through Friday, with 1st shift hours from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. The facility maintains a clean environment; however, due to its manufacturing nature, there is a significant amount of cleaning and sanitizing required. The production of dog food results in strong odors during runs. Occasionally, the role requires working in a freezer to handle raw animal products like livers, chicken, and beef scrap. Jackets and warm gear are provided for work in cold areas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
