Pilot Plant Sr Engineer

Make It With Pride.** As a member of a cross functional team, you lead R&D activities required to complete process design and process deployment for innovation, growth, and cost optimization projects across multiple geographies with an emphasis on delivering the desired consumer experience. **How you will contribute** You will be part of our **R&D Engineering Pilot Plant team** supporting innovation trials come to life! Our team works with globally recognize brands such as **Oreo, Chips Ahoy!, Ritz, BelVita, Sour Patch, and many more** ! In this role you will be working **independently** , **lead technical work** across multiple projects aligned with R&D, effectively communicating status and risks. You will also lead activities designed to generate appropriate process information for **pilot plant scale up** and factory trials in accordance with good manufacturing practice and HACCP requirements. You will be involved with/lead process design and specifications, process scale-up and commissioning and will ensure the effective use of resources, including the use of external agencies. This position requires you to manage stakeholders and to influence decisions based on data analysis and interpretation of results; create and maintain accurate consumer centric process specifications; leverage connections to internal and external technical communities, and; create intellectual property that gives Mondelēz International a competitive advantage. **What you will bring** A desire to drive your future and accelerate your career and the following experience and knowledge: + Deploy mechanical and infrastructure capital projects + Leading project teams and influencing cross-functional teams + Support operations to ensure successful R&D trials + Planning and delivering on multiple priorities + Identifying complex technical or business problems and creating and implementing solutions + Understanding equipment design to support manufacturing processes + Using technical data to influence stakeholders + Coaching and mentoring others in a process community. + Being a constant champion for the consumer **More about this role** **What you need to know about this position:** We are looking for an experienced and motivated **Pilot Plant Sr Engineer** to join our team and play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our **Global Biscuit and Baked Snacks Pilot Plant** . This includes leading infrastructure/mechanical/commissioning projects, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and troubleshooting equipment issues. You will be working with technologies such as: **_Mixers, Industrial Linear Ovens, Rotary Sandwiching Machines, Cooling Tunnels, Pressure Cookers, Crème Kitchens, etc._** **Responsibilities:** + Operations + Lead Preventive Maintenance program, scheduling, and planning. Identify and manage inventory of spare parts to unforeseen breakdowns. + Train team on capabilities of how to operate equipment implemented. + Lead commissioning and management of change (MOC) for equipment ensuring equipment follows all Safety, Sanitation, Electrical and Operation requirements stated in the MOC form. + Support R&D trials troubleshooting to help achieve our team’s achieve product specs, and project goals. + Capital Projects + Manage budgets aligned with stakeholders to ensure scope, time, and cost. + Create business proposals to unlock Capital funding, and manage purchase orders, invoices, bid creation, etc. + **Nice to have budget software skills** : SAP, Coupa, Tungsten. + Follow all Innovation Initiative Management principles (internal Mondelez PM methodology) + **Infrastructure Capital projects** + Scope project requirements ensuring in scope tasks follow safety, sanitation, and operation requirements. + Lead project management of activities coordinating contractors and local teams to achieve tasks and milestones through weekly and daily (DMS) meetings. + Develop/manage timelines (e.g., Microsoft Project) and use risk assessment tools (TRL, FMEA) to share with leadership and project team progress, gaps, and next steps through comprehensive one pagers. + **Process Equipment Capital projects** + Support R&D teams all the way from ideation to execution of the project participating in DFMEA workshops, and represent the Pilot Plant as a Single Point of Contact to find out site specifics (utilities such as electrical/air). + **Lead and support FAT and SAT checklists** to ensure evidence for equipment warranty and own equipment supplier relation to ensure Mondelez’ goals are achieved within budget, scope and time. + Technical lead + Provide technical support to maintenance team leading troubleshooting. + Support root cause analysis with process data. + Supervise mechanical and electrical work performed by contractors and electricians. + Coordinate with other departments to resolve equipment and infrastructure issues. + Implement disaster recovery plan for critical equipment. + Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, generate equipment performance reports, and provide insights for improvement. **Education / Certifications:** Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Chemical are preferred), Engineering related field. **Job specific requirements:** + 5+ years of manufacturing, R&D, operations related role. + Proficiency in working with + AutoCad and/or SolidWorks + Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, Power Point, Project + Open to learning budget software management tools: SAP, Coupa, Tungsten + Proficient troubleshooting skills + Basic understanding and/or open to learn about motors, VFD’s, electrical panels, etc. + Ability to read and understand schematics. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills. + Ability to work with **minimal supervision** and function effectively in a highly demanding environment. + Ability to interact effectively with outside vendors, production operators, team leads, and the maintenance trades. **What extra ingredients you will bring:** + Strong technical background and rigor to design unique engineering solutions. + Champion culture of safety, sanitation, and operations in all engineering designs. + Methodological approach to creating documents that fit for purpose (SOP, OPL) + Agile mindset to simply operations utilizing tools from IL6S (5S, Process Mapping, CTQ, CTP, etc.) **Work schedule:** This is a full-time onsite role based in Whippany, NJ. **Salary and Benefits:** The base salary range for this position is $83,800 to $115,225; the exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
