Job Description

What you're responsible for:

Inspecting and sorting metal materials, such as aluminium, copper, steel, and alloys, according to established guidelines and specificationsIdentifying and removing contaminants, non-recyclable items, and hazardous materials from the metal stream, ensuring the purity and quality of the recyclable metalsSeparating different types of metals into designated bins or areas, following proper sorting procedures and ensuring compliance with recycling standardsFollowing all safety protocols and guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and othersMaintaining a clean and organized work area, including sorting stations, bins, and surrounding areas, to facilitate efficient sorting operationsCoordinating and communicating with team members, supervisors, and other departments to ensure smooth operations and resolve any issues or concernsIdentifying opportunities for process improvement, efficiency gains, and waste reduction, and provide suggestions to enhance sorting operationsAdhering to environmental regulations and company policies related to the handling, sorting, and disposal of metal materials

Qualifications

To join our team:

You have previous experience in a recycling facility or a similar environment is preferredYou are familiar with different types of metals and their distinguishing characteristics is a plusYou have the ability to quickly and accurately identify and sort various metal materials based on visual cues and provided guidelinesYou are physically fit and have the ability to perform repetitive tasks, including bending, lifting, and standing for extended periodsYou have attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in metal sortingYou are able to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaborate in a team environmentYou have strong work ethic, reliability, and punctualityYou are willing to adhere to safety protocols, wear appropriate PPE, and participate in safety training
