Practice Details

• Join a group of 20 surgeons with expertise in breast surgery, colorectal, bariatric surgery, oncology surgery, general surgery and trauma and acute care surgery
• Patient base is estimated at 800,000
• Sanford Healthcare System and The Edith Sanford Breast Health Initiative is an accredited program through the Commission on Cancer, National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers, and the National Quality Measures for Breast Centers
• Sanford Health System, The Edith Sanford Breast Health initiative, and The Roger Maris Cancer Center is a fully integrated multidisciplinary Breast Program which features RN Nurse Navigators, Dedicated Breast Radiation Oncologists, Medical Oncologists, Surgical Oncologists, Breast Pathologists, Breast Radiologists, Tumor Registry, and Research Coordinators.
• The Sanford Health System has a robust research department and participates in multiple national clinical trials, clinical research, and basic science research.
• We have local and system-wide multidisciplinary breast specific physician leadership councils to oversee the program, evaluate technologies, evaluate the system wide program and ensure the highest quality outcomes for our patients
• We participate in a full-time general surgery residency program and medical school student rotations affiliated with The University of North Dakota Health Sciences Center. We have residencies and fellowships in multiple other specialties including a medical oncology fellowship

Job Description

Possess the necessary knowledge, skills, and clinical experience to perform both the standard as well as extraordinary surgical procedures required for patients with cancer.

Qualifications

M.D. or D.O. degree

Successful completion of a fellowship in Surgical Oncology

Must hold an active medical license for each state in which the physician practices – either physically or virtually. Must have a DEA for each state in which the physician physically practices. Board Certified in Surgical Oncology by the American Board of Surgery or equivalent (American Osteopathic Board of Surgery, Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada), unless fellowship training was completed prior to 2011, then Board Certified in General Surgery. If physician is not board certified upon commencement of employment, they must achieve board certification as outlined in the privileging documents.
