The UHealth-University of Miami Health System IT Department has an opportunity for a full-time Physician Support Informaticist 2 to primarily support the SoLé Mia location on-site.
The Physician Support Informaticist 2 provides one-on-one post classroom provider/physician training on Epic UChart applications/modules across all service lines, addresses end user problems and challenges with the clinical information systems (e.g., software, hardware, or network difficulties). The Physician Support Informaticist 2 documents and routes issues to the correct UHIT team and communicates the resolution to relevant.
Core Responsibilities:
Performs periodic rounding to identify provider and physician issues throughout the ambulatory care and clinic settings.
Partners with Informatics and IT leadership with developing and implementing an issue resolution plan (e.g., open, track, and resolve IT tickets with UChart analysts).
May travel to each University of Miami Health System (UMHC) satellite location and provide support during go-lives.
Acts as an advocate for provider and physician needs by identifying and documenting system optimization opportunities and following through on those improvements to implementation.
Performs analysis of new releases and determining how they will impact provider and physician workflow.
Participates or facilitates sessions with end users to prioritize and confirm changes that will be implemented.
Collaborates with trainers on system changes and new features to develop documentation and training strategies.
Participates in on-call rotations and support.
Maintains regular communication with team members and participates in weekly project team meetings.
Reviews the status of projects and issues on an ongoing basis with leadership.
Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
Department Specific Functions:
Primary on-site location will be SoLé Mia.
Assists in implementations and acts as a knowledgeable support of primarily UChart clinical systems deployed to Providers, including but not limited to Epic application modules used for physician order entry and clinical documentation. This includes Ambulatory, Inpatient, and Optime modules. In addition, it is expected that the Clinical Systems Analyst II have a working knowledge of one or more clinical specialty modules such as Radiant, Beacon and Kaleidoscope functionality.
Provide Elbow to Elbow, one on one, post classroom training of physician on any of the Epic or other information system chart applications used by physician service line groups.
Work to identify physician issues within the clinic setting, and partner with the Informatics and IT leadership to develop and implement an issue resolution plan. This may include opening and tracking IT tickets and working with UChart analysts through resolution.

May travel for physician support as needed to each of the UMHC satellites on both an ongoing basis and as determined by any Go Live schedule.
Manage a physician service phone line, and a physician support outlook inbox for support requests.
Acts as an advocate for physician and clinicians’ needs through identifying system process improvement optimization opportunities, additionally documenting and following through on those improvements to implementation.
Track, monitor and work to optimize physician / clinician usage of the current systems in place
Knowledgeable about all components of patient flow
Plans, organizes, and facilitates processes to support physicians, clinical care team in development of order sets and physician documentation
Analyzes current and future end user department requirements, procedures, and workflow, to provide application solutions that support and improve optimal utilization of the Hospital's clinical applications.
Able to resolve complex issues related to Epic clinical application documentation and personalize individual access with the use of tools to facilitate system use.
Supports new Epic clinical application functionality and implementations and recommends optimization solutions when applicable.
Customize base education material provided to reflect facility or physician specific needs
Assists in testing physician-related systems for facility specific requirements
Promotes system security and patient confidentiality and helps ensure compliance
Adheres to Code of Conduct and Mission and Value Statement
Participate in special projects as needed and performs other duties as assigned
Ongoing monitoring of various advanced clinical usage trend reports. Identify gaps/areas of opportunity and develop action plan to address areas of concern.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience required
Prior experience supporting Providers utilizing Epic clinical applications preferred
Customer service orientation and or training preferred
Experience in basic PC troubleshooting preferred
Experience in a hospital based clinical care giving environment preferred
Experience in using clinical information systems preferred
Understanding of physician needs, practice patterns and workflow in the hospital setting utilizing Epic functionality in Clinic, Surgical and Inpatient setting.
Knowledge of Provider applications such as Epic ambulatory, inpatient, Beacon as well as other technology deployed to the clinical area such as Tap & Go, Dragon Speak etc.
Strong Computer skills with Microsoft word, excel products.
Understanding of medical record documentation and what constitutes a complete record
Familiar with JC and CMS requirements for clinical documentation.
Demonstrated Professional attitude and appearance at all times
Demonstrated ability to establish and build strong relationships across a broad range of personality types
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clinical and information technology personnel verbally and in writing
Demonstrated customer orientation, and teaching abilities
Must be able to drive to assigned sites to complete work
