Sanford Health is seeking BC/BE fellowship trained hand, wrist, forearm, and elbow surgeon to join our multispecialty orthopedic practice in Grand Forks, ND. An additional surgeon is needed due to our continued practice growth both locally and regionally.• Join 5 fellowship trained surgeons +2 APPs. The group of physicians and APPs is leading providing of Orthopedic care in the Grand Forks region.
• Clinic is a stand-alone Orthopedic and Sports Medicine facility providing the following services:
o Orthopedics
o Podiatry
o Sports Medicine
o Physical/Occupational Therapy
• Access to state-of-the-art surgery center.
• On-site digital imaging and on-site OT/PT.
• NO microvascular or replant patient care is required of the interested candidate.
• Opportunity to work with the orthopedic surgery residency program is available, but not mandatory.

Core Hand Surgery privileges include the ability to admit, evaluate, diagnose, treat, and provide consultation (includes investigation, preservation, and restoration) to patients of all ages by medical, surgical, and rehabilitative means of all structures of the upper extremity directly affecting the form and function of the hand and wrist.Qualifications
M.D. or D.O. degree.Experience can be demonstrated in one of the following ways and should be reflective of the privileges being requested: An applicant who has just completed a residency provides his/her residency log. OR An applicant who is not applying directly out of a residency shall provide a quality profile from the hospital(s) where he/she currently has privileges showing his/her clinical activity for the past 12 months, including numbers of procedures performed morbidity, mortality, infection rates, and other complications. The applicant must be able to demonstrate at least 50 surgical procedures on the internal structure of the hand and related structures in the last 12 months. OR If a quality profile is not available from the hospital(s) where the applicant currently has privileges, documentation of the applicant’s clinical setting activity for the last 12 months is required. The applicant must be able to demonstrate at least 50 otolaryngology procedures in the last 12 months. More education and experience may be required the more advanced the practice becomes.
Successful completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited residency in general, orthopedic, or plastic surgery and successful completion of an accredited fellowship in surgery of the hand and/or current subspecialty certification in surgery of the hand or active participation in the examination process (with achievement of certification within the time limit as described below) leading to subspecialty certification in surgery of the hand by the ABS or the ABPS or completion of a CAQ in surgery of the hand by the ABOS or in hand surgery by the AOBOS. Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/ subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable. Those applicants who are not board certified at the time of application but who have completed their residency training within the last five years shall be eligible, however must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of their residency training unless the appropriate governing Board waives such requirement.
