The Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics (RIAO) at LifeBridge Health is actively recruiting a board-certified or board-eligible Sports Medicine Surgeon to join our dynamic team in Carroll County, MD. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in orthopedics, with a specialization in the diagnosis and surgical treatment of sports-related injuries. This position offers the opportunity to work with a diverse range of athletes, from collegiate sports teams to recreational participants, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient care.

 

Position Highlights:

Comprehensive Sports Medicine Division with D1 and D3 collegiate partnerships within a nationally recognized orthopedic institute.  Academic involvement: Work directly with orthopedic surgery residents and engage in didactic and clinical teaching. Research support: Access to dedicated research infrastructure with opportunities for grant writing, clinical studies, and publications. Competitive salary and productivity incentives, along with a full benefits package. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team across sports, trauma, total joint, spine, hand, and pediatrics. Four days of required call per month, with opportunity for additional call.

The RIAO is home to an ACGME-accredited orthopedic surgery residency and multiple fellowship programs. Faculty are deeply involved in education and surgical training, with weekly didactics, journal clubs, case conferences, and intraoperative teaching. Qualifications:

MD or DO with Board Certification/Eligibility in Orthopedic Surgery Completion of Sports Medicine Fellowship Ability to successfully obtain Maryland Medical License without restrictions Current DEA license Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment Passion for education, program building, and clinical excellence

This role offers a competitive guaranteed base salary of $400-450K. The base salary is dependent on specialty, board certification & experience, with opportunity for incremental compensation through wRVU production and potentially quality incentives.
