Physician Assistant - Inpatient Behavioral Health

​​​​​​Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding a Physician Assistant - Inpatient Behavior Health to the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi and North Central Bronx. Jacobi Medical Center is a 457-bed, Level I Trauma Center and North Central Bronx Hospital (NCB) has 213 licensed beds.  To this day, Jacobi and NCB remain respected leaders in emergency medicine, trauma surgery, burn care, pediatrics, primary care, and women’s health.

Opportunity Details:

Medical history and physical examinations, including the identification of acute and chronic medical problems, medication needs, and diagnostic plans. Performance and/or interpretation of routine diagnostic studies, including venipuncture, arterial puncture, common radiologic studies, EKG tracings, and PAP smears. Performance of routine therapeutic procedures including injections, immunizations, wound care, suturing, incision and drainage of superficial infections, and insertion of nasogastric tubes and bladder catheters. Counseling of patients regarding physical and mental health, diet, disease prevention, health promotion, safe sexual practice, and reproductive planning. Collaboration with the supervising Physician in the implementation of a plan of treatment, including the prescription of non-psychotropic medications, and documentation in the medical record of diagnostic studies, ongoing clinical status, and therapeutic plans. Participation in life-saving measures in cases of cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
