Responsibilities The Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) supports Physical Therapists (PTs) in providing treatments to help patients recover from injuries, improve mobility, and manage physical disabilities. The PTA works under the direction and supervision of a licensed PT, implementing prescribed treatment plans and monitoring patient progress. Provide therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and functional training as directed by the PT. Monitor patient performance during therapy sessions and report progress or concerns to the supervising PT. Educate patients and caregivers on prescribed home exercise programs and proper use of assistive devices. Document patient treatments, progress notes, and outcomes in accordance with professional and regulatory standards. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized therapy area, ensuring equipment is sanitized and in good working condition. Assist with patient scheduling and administrative tasks as needed. Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and professional guidelines for physical therapy practices. Qualifications Job Requirements: Associate degree in Physical Therapist Assisting from an accredited program. Texas state licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant. Basic Life Support through American Heart Association or American Red Cross Preferred Job Requirements: Previous acute care, rehab, or outpatient experience.
