Summary of Job Duties:"This is a weekend shift, 3 12 hour days (Sat - Mon)"
The Physical Therapist performs examinations, evaluations, and establishes plans of care including goals and recommendations for discharge. The PT provides daily treatment to promote functional independence and modifies treatment programs. Performs documentation in EHR. Coordinates/communicates with interdisciplinary team. Participates in program improvement, clinical education, and customer service standards.
Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy

Licensed as a Physical Therapist by the Arkansas State Board of Physical Therapy or eligible for licensure.

Once hired, must be fitted for, capable of donning & performing routine tasks in PPE to include N95 mask, PAPR, or CAPR. 

Preferred Qualifications::

Doctorate in Physical Therapy

Experience as a PT in acute care setting

Current AHA BLS (must obtain certification within 30 days of starting in this position)

Responsibilities:

Performs comprehensive musculoskeletal evaluations using specialized tests and measures (e.g. range of motion, strength, joint mobility), then formulate individualized plans of care and set measurable patient goals

Designs and implements evidence‑based interventions—including therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, gait and balance training, functional mobility, neuromuscular re‑education, and pool therapy—to restore movement and reduce pain

Monitors and reassesses patient progress, adjusting treatment plans and progressing functional home exercise programs as needed

Collects and analyzes functional outcomes data, such as performance measures and patient questionnaires, to assess treatment effectiveness and support best‑practice outcomes documentation

Documents evaluations, treatments, discharge summaries, and billing charges in compliance with UAMS, HIPAA, insurance, and Joint Commission standards

Collaborates as part of a multidisciplinary care team, communicating regularly with referring physicians and other clinicians regarding patient status and recommendations

Provides patient and family education, offering instruction on self‑management strategies, safe mobility techniques, injury prevention, orthotic care, and wellness programs to maintain musculoskeletal health

Contributes to program development and clinical education, serving as a clinical instructor or mentor, participating in quality improvement initiatives, or delivering continuing education sessions or community outreach as assigned

May perform other duties as assigned.
