Positioned at the forefront of innovation, the center plays a pivotal role in advancing integrated photonic circuits (PICs) and their applications in cutting-edge fields such as high-speed transceivers, AI photonics, and advanced sensing systems. 

  

Responsibilities 

 

 

As a Photonics Design Expert, you will lead the design, modeling, and development of advanced photonic components and circuits, driving innovation from concept to product launch.  
 
Your primary responsibilities will include: 

  

Design and model photonic integrated circuits (PICs) and components, ensuring compliance with defined specifications and performance targets. 

Lead new concept studies and product development initiatives, from the R&D stage through New Product Introduction (NPI). 

Define test plans, analyze experimental data, and ensure design validation during the R&D phase. 

Contribute to the development of PIC-based system architectures for emerging applications (e.g., 6G photonics, optical DSP, RF/mmWave photonics, photonic neural networks, and 3D/4D image sensing). 

Work closely with processing and test teams, as well as global component and module engineering groups, to ensure seamless integration and product realization. 

Conduct literature reviews, monitor industry trends, and participate in conferences to generate new ideas and strengthen R&D strategies. 

Secure funding and resources for R&D projects by effectively communicating value propositions to internal and external stakeholders.  

Requirements 

 

 

PhD in Photonics, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field, with 5+ years of relevant experience in the photonics industry. 

Proven track record in the design and testing of silicon photonics and III-V components. 

Experience in integrating PICs with EICs, RF ICs, and driving circuitry in transceiver modules or similar subsystems.
