Reuters is seeking a talented and driven Photographer to join our UK & Ireland visuals team based in London. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to one of the world’s most trusted news organizations, producing compelling, timely, and visually powerful photography across breaking news, politics, entertainment, sports, and enterprise stories.
You will be responsible for covering major events in London and reinforcing coverage of national and international stories. You will work closely with reporters, editors, and video journalists to deliver agenda-setting multimedia coverage. The role requires a proven selfstarter who thrives in a fast-paced newsroom and collaborates effectively across departments.
About the Role:
As our Photographer, you will:
Produce top-quality news photography across London and the UKI region.Cover a wide range of assignments including spot news, politics, business, entertainment, and sports.Collaborate with Reuters photo editors, staff photographers, and the Global Pictures Desk to contribute highly competitive images to the Reuters News Pictures file.Pitch and develop story ideas on a wide range of subjects including climate change.Provide video coverage on selected stories and contribute to multimedia storytelling.Uphold Reuters Trust Principles and maintain high ethical and technical standards.Transmit photos under pressure using tools such as Wi-Fi, MiFi, and Starlink.About You:
To be our Photographer, you will likely have:
Experience as a full-time photojournalist with a strong portfolio.Proven photojournalism and editing skills, including the ability to produce picture packages and individual defining moments.Strong news judgment and a solid understanding of UK politics and government.Experience in sports photography and video production.Familiarity with wire service clients and global market needs.Ability to work independently and as part of a large, collaborative team.A unique “eye” for composition and storytelling in fast-changing news environments.Excellent communication skills and fluency in English, with the ability to write clear, error-free captions.Proficiency in current photo editing and transmission software.A drone license is an asset.#LI-KK1
