Phlebotomist - SMC Main
Phlebotomist Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist responsible for accurately obtaining blood samples via venipuncture and capillary collection procedures with minimum customer discomfort. This role will provide care to a diverse range of patients, from infants to geriatric individuals, ensuring specimen integrity by adhering to laboratory procedures for specimen collection, handling, and processing. Responsibilities + Draw blood and process samples efficiently. + Collect and scan insurance information. + Input and update patient demographics, including contact information and address. + Enter billing codes accurately. + Spin down specimens and manage send-outs to other laboratories if required. + Print shipping labels and box specimens. + Utilize software systems for processing tasks. Essential Skills + Proficiency in venipuncture and phlebotomy. + Minimum of 2 years of phlebotomy experience. + Certified Phlebotomist with Phlebotomy certification. + Strong data entry skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Outpatient clinic/IOP experience preferred. + Excellent customer service skills. Work Environment You will work alongside two other phlebotomists onsite, from Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm with a one-hour lunch break, at the Southside Medical Center – Main, located in SW Atlanta, GA. The role involves interacting with a wide range of patients, including pediatrics, geriatrics, and obstetric populations, with a focus on adults. Expect to handle approximately 30 sticks per day in this high-demand environment. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
