Job Title: Phlebotomist III - Scottsdale Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Phlebotomist III to join our team in Scottsdale. This role involves performing various phlebotomy tasks and ensuring the accurate collection and processing of specimens. Responsibilities + Perform blood draws, label specimens, and centrifuge specimens. + Record maintenance data and perform decontamination procedures. + Update patient information and ensure accurate specimen collection and storage. + Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients. + Demonstrate technique using straight and butterfly needles. + Understand and execute all physician orders accurately. + Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. + Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order. + Check all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy. + Package specimens for transport, ensuring they are stored at the required temperature. + Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations. + Attend annual department training sessions. + Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries. Essential Skills + Proficiency in phlebotomy techniques and blood draw procedures. + Experience in troubleshooting, training, and making workflow recommendations. + Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting. + Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. + Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment, as required in some states. + High School Diploma or GED. Additional Skills & Qualifications + 5-7 years of experience in phlebotomy or a related field. Work Environment This position is located in a Patient Service Center (PSC), working with one or more phlebotomists to draw outpatients. You will handle the entire process from start to finish, including entering doctor orders into the computer system, verifying insurance, taking copays or payments, drawing blood, and preparing specimens for courier pickup. The work hours are from 7 AM to 4 PM. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Scottsdale, Arizona. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $24.59/hr.
