Job Description
Join a dynamic team at a leading inpatient facility where you will perform essential phlebotomy duties. As a Phlebotomist III, you will engage with patients, conduct blood draws, and manage specimen handling with precision and care. Your role is critical in maintaining the integrity of specimen collection and processing, ensuring that patients receive the best care possible.
ResponsibilitiesGreet patients as they arrive at the lab and provide excellent customer service.Perform blood draws using straight and butterfly needles.Label and centrifuge specimens accurately according to test orders.Match laboratory requisition forms with specimen tubes and package specimens for transport.Store specimen samples at required temperatures and follow protocols to maintain specimen integrity.Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations and attend annual department trainings.Handle insurance, billing, and processing of samples.Answer telephone inquiries and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.Essential Skills6+ months of phlebotomy/venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.Proficiency in drawing blood using straight and butterfly needles.Excellent customer service skills.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.Ability to take feedback well and eagerness to learn.Strong work ethic, reliability, and positive attendance.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED.Previous customer service experience in any setting.Patient-first mindset.Positive, hardworking personality that takes initiative and works well with others.Work Environment
This position is located in Portland, OR.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.85 - $27.00/hr.
