Job Title: Phlebotomist II - Tualatin Job Description This position involves working as a Phlebotomist at a medical facility located in Junction City, OR. The role includes a variety of responsibilities related to specimen collection and patient interaction. Responsibilities + Greet patients as they arrive at the lab. + Perform blood draws and label specimens accurately. + Centrifuge specimens and record maintenance data. + Decontaminate equipment and update patient information. + Collect and store specimens according to established procedures. + Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously. + Demonstrate proper techniques using straight and butterfly needles. + Understand and fulfill all physician orders. + Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. + Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders. + Verify test requisitions or computer labels for accuracy. + Package specimens for transport and ensure correct storage temperatures. + Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations. + Attend annual department training sessions. + Handle telephone inquiries and provide laboratory results. + Prepare sites for specimen collection and manage insurance and billing processes. + Deliver excellent customer service to patients. Essential Skills + Proficiency in drawing blood using various techniques. + Strong customer service skills. + Experience in venipuncture and specimen processing. + Phlebotomy certification. + Knowledge of medical terminology and patient information management. Additional Skills & Qualifications + High School Diploma or GED. + Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience. + Previous customer service experience in any setting. + Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. + Ability to take feedback positively and eagerness to learn. + Patient-first mindset. + Positive, hardworking attitude with initiative. + Proven reliability and good attendance record. Work Environment The work environment is within a medical facility located at 19300 Southwest 65th Avenue, Tualatin, OR. The contract duration is initially set for 3 months, with potential for extension based on business needs and performance. Consultants may occasionally be asked to float to nearby locations. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.46/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
