Phlebotomist II - Portland/Hood River
Job Title: Phlebotomist

Job Description

In this dynamic role, you’ll be responsible for greeting patients, performing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging, recording maintenance data, and updating patient information. You will collect and store specimens according to established procedures, clearly explain the venipuncture process, and demonstrate proper techniques using straight and butterfly needles.

ResponsibilitiesGreet patients as they arrive and perform blood draws.Label and centrifuge specimens according to test orders.Collect and store specimens following established procedures.Explain venipuncture and specimen collection processes to patients.Demonstrate technique using straight and butterfly needles.Ensure laboratory requisition forms match specimen tubes.Package specimens for transport, maintaining integrity.Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.Attend annual department trainings.Prepping sites, handling insurance, billing, and processing samples.Provide excellent customer service.Essential SkillsPhlebotomy certification.6+ months of Phlebotomy experience.Previous customer service experience.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.Positive, hardworking attitude.Ability to take feedback well and eagerness to learn.Patient-first mindset.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED.Proven reliability and positive attendance.Ability to work well with others.Work Environment

Work in a supportive and strong team environment with opportunities for growth and relocation within a global company. Contracts initially last 3-6 months, with potential extensions. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.46/hr.
