Job Description
This Phlebotomist II position involves working at two locations in Portland within a women's health and reproductive clinic, and one location at the Hood River PSC. The role requires a professional adept at patient interaction and sample collection and processing.
ResponsibilitiesGreet patients as they arrive at the lab and conduct blood draws using straight and butterfly needles.Label specimens accurately and centrifuge them as necessary.Record maintenance data and conduct decontamination procedures.Update patient information in the system.Collect and store specimens according to established procedures, explaining the process clearly and courteously.Match laboratory requisition forms with specimen tubes.Check all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure accuracy.Package specimens for transport and store them at required temperatures.Answer telephone inquiries and read laboratory results.Prepare the site for blood draws and handle insurance, billing, and sample processing.Provide excellent customer service to patients.Essential SkillsPhlebotomy certification.6+ months of phlebotomy experience.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.Previous customer service experience in any setting.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED.Understanding of medical terminology.Experience with specimen processing.Ability to take feedback well and eagerness to learn.Patient-first mindset and proven reliability with positive attendance.Work Environment
This position is within a strong team environment and culture, offering potential growth into different departments such as lab, sales, and client services. The role includes a contract duration initially slated for 3-6 months, with a possibility of extension based on business needs and performance. Be prepared to occasionally float to nearby locations if required. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.46/hr.
