Job Description

The primary role of a Phlebotomist II is to assist in performing various duties, troubleshoot issues, provide training, and make workflow recommendations. This position requires a high level of customer service and proficiency in specimen collection and processing.

ResponsibilitiesPerform blood draws using straight needles and butterfly needles.Label specimens and centrifuge them according to test requirements.Record maintenance data and ensure decontamination procedures are followed.Update patient information accurately.Explain the venipuncture and specimen collection process clearly and courteously.Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required.Check test requisitions or computer labels against scripts for accuracy.Package specimens for transport, ensuring they are stored at required temperatures.Enter orders and perform data entry using the LabCorp Touch system.Essential SkillsCertified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT)Proficient in venipuncture and specimen collectionPhlebotomy certificationExperience in blood draws and specimen processingBasic Life Support (BLS-AHA) certificationAdditional Skills & QualificationsHigh level of customer service skillsAbility to float between various patient service centersStrong data entry skillsWork Environment

This is a FLOAT position supporting patient service centers in Chino, Eastvale, Riverside, and Upland. Candidates must be available between 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, working 8-hour shifts as scheduled by management. The role is primarily based in large-volume patient service centers, with approximately 160-200 patients seen daily. Most work is performed standing, apart from check-in and break times. The position involves working in a team setting with around 8 other phlebotomists, and requires interaction with pediatric and geriatric patients. Training includes one week onsite, with additional processing training offsite at a later date.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.11 - $23.11/hr.
