Phlebotomist II is to assist in performing various assigned duties, troubleshooting, training, and making workflow recommendations. This position requires proficiency in blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data, decontamination, and updating patient information.
ResponsibilitiesPerform blood draws using straight needles and butterfly needles.Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.Package specimens for transport and store them at required temperatures.Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.SkillsPhlebotomy certification valid in the state of employment.Minimum 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.High School Diploma or GED.2-4 years of experience in phlebotomy.Experience in pediatrics.
Shift: Monday-Friday: hours vary between 6am-8pm. Saturday availability needed.
Floating to one clinic site per day.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr.
