The role youll contribute:

The Laboratory Phlebotomist is responsible for collection of blood samples, through the use of standard venipuncture and microtainer techniques. Receives laboratory specimens and processes samples for Laboratory testing. Performs clerical and client service functions in the Laboratory as requested.

The value youll bring to the team:

Ability to perform venipuncture and microtainer collection in sterile technique.

Ensure specimens are correctly labeled and orders are received.

Verify patient identify and correct laboratory tests for each patient.

Ability to properly prioritize routine specimen receipt in the laboratory on a first in first out basis.

Performs assigned pre-analytical activities related to laboratory testing, which may include general equipment maintenance, function checks and documentation; inventory control and supply stocking;

Stat and Alert specimens are prioritized before routine orders.

The expertise and experience you’ll need to succeed:

Minimum qualifications:

High School Grad or Equiv

Preferred qualifications:

Technical/Vocational School

Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Phlebotomy Technician (PBTASCP)

Phlebotomy Training Program
