Job Title: Phlebotomist

Job Description

A dedicated Phlebotomist/Lab Assistant is needed for a large medical group. This role requires individuals who have six months to one year of experience handling patients of all ages, from neonates to geriatrics. Preference is given to those with hospital, acute, or inpatient experience. The candidate must be adaptable to floating between various locations and managing split shifts. The role involves drawing blood from 40-50 patients per shift, and strong customer service skills are essential to maintain the organization's values. Proficiency with computers, particularly with laboratory information systems like LIS and Cerner, is necessary.

ResponsibilitiesPerform blood draws for patients of all ages, including neonatal and geriatric.Handle both inpatient and outpatient settings, drawing 45-55 patients within an 8-hour shift for outpatient and 20-30 patients for inpatient.Float between different locations and manage split shifts as required.Provide excellent customer service and maintain professional behavior.Ensure accurate and efficient data entry in lab systems.Essential SkillsMinimum six months to one year of phlebotomy experience.Valid CPT CA license.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.Experience with lab systems like Cerner.Ability to work with neonatal to geriatric patients.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in acute or sub-acute settings preferred.Experience with pediatrics.Excellent attendance and flexible with shifts and hours.Ability to travel within specified regional locations.Work Environment

Phlebotomists will work in a dynamic environment that offers the flexibility of working 20+ or 40+ hours, depending on availability and capacity. Shifts start at 7:00 AM, with labs closing at 9:30 PM. Common shifts include 7:00 AM–1:00 PM and 3:30 PM–close. The primary location is the Medical Office Building (MOB), covering both sites in San Marcos, which are in close proximity.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr.
