Position Overview
We’re seeking a skilled and compassionate Phlebotomist I to perform daily specimen collection and processing duties with accuracy, professionalism, and care. This role requires direct interaction with patients, clients, and internal staff, and demands a high level of attention to detail and customer service.
Key ResponsibilitiesPerform venipuncture and other specimen collection (urine, fecal) confidently and accuratelyGreet and treat all patients and clients with courtesy and professionalismClearly explain collection procedures to reduce patient anxietyEnsure timely and accurate specimen collection, labeling, and processingDispose of biohazard materials and sharps according to safety protocolsAccurately complete requisitions and enter patient/specimen data into systemsCommunicate with clients to verify orders and billing detailsPrepare and package specimens for transport, maintaining proper temperature and integrityMaintain daily logs, records, and documentationAssist with monthly data compilation and basic clerical tasks (filing, faxing, mail prep)Approve time and submit travel/expense logs per company scheduleUphold grooming, dress code, and lab coat policiesMaintain a clean and orderly work environmentUse proper PPE and follow all lab safety proceduresProtect patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and data security standardsRequired SkillsPhlebotomy and venipuncture proficiencyExperience with geriatric patientsStrong communication and customer service skillsAbility to manage fluctuating patient flow and work independentlyIntermediate computer/data entry skillsQualificationsMinimum 1 year of hands-on phlebotomy experienceDemonstrated ability to perform blood draws and specimen handlingFamiliarity with clinical and forensic collection protocolsPay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
