Job Title: Phlebotomist

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced phlebotomist to join our team. You will be responsible for handling a high volume of patients, processing and data entry, performing blood draws, labeling specimens, and maintaining equipment. Your role will also include updating patient information and ensuring specimens are stored and transported properly.

ResponsibilitiesCollect and store specimens according to established procedures.Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.Understand all physicians' orders thoroughly.Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes accurately.Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by the test order.Ensure all test requisitions or computer labels match scripts 100%.Package specimens for transport.Store specimen samples at required temperatures and in appropriate containers.Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.Attend annual department trainings.Answer telephone calls and provide laboratory results as needed.Essential SkillsProficiency in phlebotomy and blood draws.Experience with high-volume blood draws, ideally 2+ years.Ability to work with pediatric and geriatric patients.Skilled in using straight needles.Work Environment

The work schedule is from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with every other Saturday from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM. You will be working alongside a team of three phlebotomists, handling approximately 90 patients a day.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.40 - $20.65/hr.
